Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: August 2026

Welcome to Closette. Please read our Terms & Conditions carefully before using our peer-to-peer fashion rental and resale platform.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Closette. Closette is a peer-to-peer marketplace that lets users rent, list for rent, buy, and sell clothing and fashion items with each other. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Eligibility

3. Platform Role

Closette is an intermediary that connects renters, lenders, buyers, and sellers. Closette does not own, inspect, or guarantee any listed item. Users are fully responsible for:

4. Identity Verification

Before your first rental request, purchase, rental listing, or sale listing, you must complete identity verification. Verification requires a photo of the front and back of a valid government ID, passport, or driver's license, and a live selfie taken with your camera.

Submitted documents are reviewed by authorized Closette staff only and are never shown publicly. Only a verified badge, not your documents, is visible to other users. If your verification is rejected, you will be shown the reason and may resubmit.

5. Renter & Lender Responsibilities

As a Renter, you agree to:

As a Lender, you agree to:

6. Buyer & Seller Responsibilities

As a Buyer, you agree to:

As a Seller, you agree to:

7. Rental & Sale Agreements

Each rental or sale is a direct transaction between the two users involved, governed by the price, dates, and terms shown at the time of the request. By confirming a rental or purchase, both parties accept the applicable Rental Policy or Sale Policy, and the total price shown, including any delivery fees, cross-state fees, and (for rentals) the security deposit.

8. Fees & Commission

Closette charges a service commission of 15% on the rental subtotal, the sale price, and any overdue-rental fee collected. Closette does not take a commission on delivery fees or on security deposits. All applicable fees are shown to both parties before a request is submitted.

9. Security Deposits

Rentals may include a refundable security deposit. Deposits are held as part of the transaction, not as Closette revenue, and are not paid to the lender unless Closette approves a damage claim. Deposits are normally released to the renter after a successful return. If a damage report is filed, the deposit is held pending review as described below.

10. Cancellations

Once a lender or seller accepts a request, the renter or buyer may cancel free of charge only within 1 hour of that acceptance. After the 1-hour window closes, the request proceeds toward dispatch and normal cancellation terms no longer apply. Closette reserves the right to restrict abusive cancellation behavior and apply penalties where necessary.

11. Delivery & Third-Party Couriers

Closette coordinates delivery, which may be fulfilled directly or through a third-party courier partner (such as Aramex). To complete pickup and delivery, your name, phone number, and delivery address are shared with the courier, and, where cash-on-delivery applies, the courier may collect payment on Closette's behalf and later settle it to Closette. Closette remains responsible for allocating funds, resolving disputes, and making final decisions on all transactions, even when a third-party courier physically handles delivery.

12. Damages, Loss & Disputes

Renters are responsible for damage, loss, or theft of a rented item during the rental period. Buyers are responsible for damage they cause after the sale's inspection window has passed.

If a damage report is filed, Closette reviews the evidence (including handoff photos) and decides the outcome: no damage found, a partial compensation amount, or, for major damage, an amount up to the full deposit. Any amount awarded goes to the lender in full; Closette does not take a commission on damage awards. Closette may assist in resolving disputes but is not liable for the outcome of a dispute between users.

13. Late Returns & Overdue Rentals

Returning a rental item late may result in an overdue fee, calculated from the number of overdue days, and, if unresolved, account suspension. Closette earns a 15% commission on collected overdue fees; the remainder goes to the lender.

14. Wallet, Earnings & Cashouts

Completed transactions credit your Closette wallet according to the outcome of the transaction. Earnings are not recognized for pending, rejected, canceled, or returned/refunded transactions. You may request a cashout of your available wallet balance at any time, unless your account is suspended.

15. Account Suspension

Closette may suspend an account for a failed return, an open dispute, an unresolved overdue rental, or an active investigation. A suspended account cannot start a new rental, purchase, or listing, or request a cashout, but may still complete an obligation that already exists, such as an accepted delivery, a required return, or resolving the issue that caused the suspension. Suspension is lifted once the underlying issue is resolved.

16. Account Deletion

You may request account deletion from within the app. Requests are reviewed by Closette; deletion is not immediate. A request may be declined if you have unresolved obligations, such as an active rental, sale, dispute, or unpaid balance. Some transaction records may be retained after deletion as required for accounting and legal purposes.

17. Prohibited Use

Users may not:

Closette reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

18. Limitation of Liability

Closette is not liable for the quality, authenticity, or condition of listed items, for disputes between users, or for losses arising from a rental or sale, except where Closette has made an admin decision to compensate a user directly (such as a damage award).

19. Modifications

Closette may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
